If you doubted the popularity of Facebook, here’s your proof in The Social Network. This Facebook movie will be out in October, if all of you facers can wait. I’m hoping that its a big box office draw, its the only chance Mark Zuckerberg has at making any money.

On a fall night in 2003, Harvard undergrad and computer programming genius Mark Zuckerberg sits down at his computer and heatedly begins working on a new idea. In a fury of blogging and programming, what begins in his dorm room soon becomes a global social network and a revolution in communication. A mere six years and 500 million friends later, Mark Zuckerberg is the youngest billionaire in history… but for this entrepreneur, success leads to both personal and legal complications. From director David Fincher and screenwriter Aaron Sorkin comes The Social Network, a film that proves you don’t get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies. The film is produced by Scott Rudin, Dana Brunetti, Michael De Luca, and Cean Chaffin and based on the book “The Accidental Billionaires” by Ben Mezrich.

  2. I have been seeing this advertised on TV. I can’t wait to see it but since I don’t know the story I hope its not all about greed and legal action cause i think facebook is a great thing.

  3. Facebook rocks…i am waiting for this.

  4. It will be interesting to see how this movie does in the box office. There are a huge amount of people on facebook, but will that translate into movie goers? We’ll have to see.

Great trailer though. Its hard to have a gripping trailer for movies like this.

  5. I saw the trailer in the cinema before the inception movie last week. I am really looking forward to watch this movie because i and so many other people are connected to facebook and can identify with the people behind.

  6. This will be an interesting movie to watch. It deals with two things that I am interested in: technology and business (start-ups).

  7. yea, i wonder how this depiction of facebook will be, how close to the truth it will be.

  8. Ultimately it transcends the online world. This is an age-old story of an ambitious person who is able to accomplish much, but loses sight of what’s really important. Despite all of the betrayal, court cases and double crossing, let’s be honest, no-one really cares about the founding of Facebook, but in the hands of David Fincher, however, The Social Network is something of a masterpiece.

  9. Today I am going to see this movie with a few of my friends. Judging my the IMDB rating this movie has to be good, just like the real life story.

  10. The social network movie is one of David Fincher’s most intriguing to date. I have to admit, there was some hesitation before seeing it, but the characters are very strong, and the direction is brilliant

  11. Just saw this movie last night…really enjoyed it. Would be interested in finding out exactly how much of it was true and how much was made up for the screen…had no idea the guy behind Napster was part of Facebook!

  12. What a film! I loved the trailer, and i loved the film even more :) To think, it all started from school websites is unbelievable! great film, great cast, well done to everyone involved :)

It’s a great movie, but I also think it’s depressing at how cutthroat college intellectuals can be.

  14. I have finally seen the movie for the first time yesterday. it is interesting and pretty good, it was nice to see the story behind the biggest social network in the world!
    All the best,
    Rachel

  15. Finally saw that movie. Pretty good i thought. But Zuckerberg is a little bitch lol

  16. I wonder how will g+ change the numbers around facebook when it’s dealing with privacy issues that google will get right from the start. Will have to watch this movie sometime altough I don’t really like facebook and it’s UI.

  17. Average movie. They didn’t wait to release it after their new chat system which btw is the worst chat I used. Ok, he created the facebook by using someone else’s idea, bravo!

  18. I’m massive fan of David Fincher, but for some reason missed this first time around. For some reason or other I didn’t think this was going to be very good. I finally got round to watching it last night though… and what a movie, was really surprised! Who would have thought social media could be so exciting?
